Intro to GIS: Using Digital Flood Data
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an analytical tool that is used for a variety of earth-based management practices. In this short course, we use digital flood data while introducing GIS concepts and skills. Participants will learn about various data formats, including DFIRMs, and how to acquire and display them in a variety of systems for property-site information collection purposes. Both commercially-available ArcGIS and free mapping applications will be used to demonstrate this objective.
